| Hey, Since this seems to be the age old question. I was browsing through an old Overstreet, and came across this: 1828-1899 Victorian Age 1900-1938 Platinum Age 1938-1945 Golden Age (Action Comics #1 was the catalyst) 1946-1956 Atom Age 1956-1972 [1970?] Silver Age (Showcase #4) [1971]1973-1985 Bronze Age (Amazing Spider-Man #121 Death of Gwen Stacy) 1986-1992 Copper Age (DC's Crisis on Infinite Earths) 1992-1999 Chrome Age (Image Started) 2000-Present Modern Age Overstreet wasn't claiming this to be the "official" Chart of the ages, but merely a discussion starting point, and their arguement for it. **This info is from Overstreet Priceguide #33 page 867** Thanks extended to Robert M. Overstreet.**
YOU WERE POUNCED ON BY THE BIG-CAT!!

i disagree with the lable "Chrome Age".........that should be changed to Tin....yes there were gems...but the quality of the majority of books comming out then were as worthless as Tin.....but thats just my opinion.

just because it's worthless doesn't mean it's not good i still like a lot of image stuff..didn't marvel and dc pick up some of them? i think the real problem was the mass production..that's a major reason why a lot of that stuff is worthless at least $$$ wise. there wasn't enough collectors to absorb the quanities that were produced...

I dont care about the dollar value....have you ever read an early issue of say......Vangaurd...or Supreme....they were horrible...
These are just the horrible ones that come to mind when i think 90s comics...
Marvel's hit list....
Cap durring the 90s was toilet paper......Daredevil after the "Fall From Grace" Storyline was junk.....they even ran the "Infinty Saga" into the ground with Crusade..which was just plain B.A.D.
Clones....is he..isnt he.....wow there is a villan that should have remained dead....finishing out a 30yr old plot involving the clones.................not to mention little May Parker who was just forgotten about....
DC's hit list...
Fall of Superman...Replace Superman...Superman Alive...Superman with Electrical based powers....
Fall of the bat....Replacement of the bat.....Rise of the bat....Re-Replacement of the new bat with the old bat....
Fall of the GL...replacement of the GL....Turn the original GL into a Supervillan....on and on and on...
Note: DC didnt have very fresh ideas....they are all pretty much the same...done different...but to the same effect...
and the most overused word of the 90s to describe something......EXTREAM...
now its Ultimate...
Comics of today seem to be getting back on track...durring the 80s there were some great stories...and durring the 90s everything seemed to be just well....kinda like the 90s.........fake....and over amplified...
Its still over amp'd today...but atleast on some points the stories are tons better....
just my 2cents.
