Hey y'all. I'm looking a copy of Whiz Comics #56 to maybe buy. It's listed as Fine, and it does look nice. I asked the seller for a larger scan and he sent me the picture below. I don't have a scan of the back cover, but just based on this front cover, what would you say? There's a bit of tearing at the staple (only one staple, I think it was a war time economizing type of thing), but what I wonder about most is whatever's going on on the right side by the war stamp. Is that tape? Or restoration of some kind? Maybe it's just weirdness from the scanner, but it's so symmetrical...

Anyway, what do you think? The listing ends in like a day and a half, so any help before then will be greatly appreciated. Especially from anyone who knows about restoration.

At first glance looks like a nice 6.5. The colors are amazing though. I have no idea on what that thing on the right side of the book is. You need to ask the seller about that. Tape or resto are good guesses. Or possibly his scanner, ot maybe some type of impression on the book. Find out about that.

As far as restoration goes; it is hard enough to detect restoration with the book in hand. Trying to find it in a scan may as well be near impossible, unless the resto is so obvious it presents itself right away.
