That's for value tier. You have to submit a 30 book minimum. That tier is good for the high grade1970-1974 books.

Submitting books like Crowman did is probably the standard tier which is $49 each. It seemed like a fast turnaround time, so I am just guessing it is standard. Economy is $29 each, but it takes a longer time and the book has to be worth $250 or less.

Thanks man. I hate to keep beating a dead horse, but that just seems so expensive to me. Are they worth at least 50 bucks more now? We were just talking about this, and pretty much came to the conclusion that CGC comics, especially mid-grade, don't sell for all that much more.

Crowman, did you submit them to increase their value? Now that you've gotten them back, do you anticipate realizing at least $50 more per sale? I haven't yet looked up the values of each of those issues, I'd imagine they must be pretty high (I like DC better so I'm more familiar with those prices). I suppose for a comic over say $350 or $400, getting an extra 50 bucks for the grading could happen.

Y'know KoR, I think I'd buy a comic that you told me was an 8.0 with more confidence than a CGC 8.0, definitely way more confidence than a PGX 8.0 (I have zero faith in PGX right now). You should start charging a premium!

shhhhhh

One of the things I like about these forums when I joined was that people gave honest opinions on the grades for others books...It gives a real insight into how others view books, and for a "new to grading" chump like me it's very helpful. King has always been trusted on his grades...and, for the most part, spot-on.

Low and midgrade Silver Age Marvel (non-keys) generally don't sell well at all. Probably 15-50% of guide most times on eBay. But if you are a dealer that just bought a low/mid grade Silver Age collection for 10 cents a book, it is WELL WORTH the grading costs. It all just depends on what the book is and how much you have in it to decide if it is right for you to submit a book.

I appreciate the trust in my grades. Maybe one day my raw books will be flying out of my eBay store like my graded ones lol

It cost me over $800 for this grading exercise. Yes, maybe I went in too deeply for a first time and I have been burned for my lack of caution. However, each of these bookks has the potential to be a $1000 book (if not already) and I felt their conditions (apart from the resotred ones of course) justified the grading.

Five of the restored books came from the one seller which really surprised me as I have always had a very good relationship and trust with this dealer. Some of the books were purchased as far back ago as 2005.

I contacted the dealer and they were very apologetic and ofrfered to let me send the books back for refund. The dealer also offered to pay for postage to send back any other books that I was concerned about to be checked more vigourously for any restoration.

A very happy and satisfactory ending.

Glad to hear that the seller was apologetic and seemed nice bout the situation...But the question IS are you going to send the books back to get the refund or are you going to keep them in your collection and just wait until a better copy arrives?

Will definitely send them back. I paid a lot for those books and they are not in the conditions I expected them to be. Rather than have the money refunded, I will have a credit with the store. This was my suffestion and chpoice of action.
