They should call the whole Ultimate Universe.....
"A waste of freaking money".

| Couldn't agree more... the only title worth the paper it's printed on is Ultimate Spider Man, but even then with all the BND garbage, they might as well just move the title into the regular Marvel Universe. The appeal to that title was a young, unmarried, inexperienced spidey. Well, that sounds like the core title now...

This book was paced very well....the only time it ever deviated from the main story (which was the birth of Cap. America) was the time at the "Secret Base" where you saw the pillar with the glowing eye for the first time........I thought it was very well done....the first book was a somewhat origin issue for Fury and Mutants (Wolverine in general)......the second focused on Cap........i would really like to know where it was all over the place...cause i didnt get that variant
The point of this issue is trying to convey what the cause and effects were from the Super Soldier testing and how that all ties into everything thats ever happend in the Ultimate universe....give it one more issue...these were setups...i thought the first issue was great....and issue two was just another Cap origin...issue 3 will have the goods...........trust me

I'll admit I was a little preoccupied while reading it. Maybe I didn't give it a fair shot.

I just don't see how re-telling CA origin gave this issue any value. I learned that: - The red eyed glowy thing has been around since WW II or before.
- The place where CA was created is now project pegasus.
- Caps origin is still the same.
There just wasn't enough new substance in it to warrant half the book in what they could have covered in a few pages IMO. I plan on buying this whole series and I agree that issue 1 was great, and by the time it is done we won't be disappointed but this issue was a bit of a let down for me. I will read it again also to see if I get a better feeling from on the 2nd go around.

If you notice.....i never said it was good .............i said it was well paced..and very well done..for what it was...it was a solid issue....
did i need another retelling of Cap. Americas Orgin....not really....was it out of place...not in my opinion....but they needed to tell it....if not just for the simple fact to show the history around the Superhuman Development program......and this will more than likely lead into why it was outlawed for so long and the circumstances surrounding that......and since just about everything in the Ultimate Universe centers around the Genetic Production of Superhumans....from Spider-man to Wolverine.......I'm looking forward to reading about Peter Parker and Eddie Brock's Fathers...and the real reasons they were killed....
