| I know there is a grading guide on this site. Here is my question. My wife and I have been collecting 1st issue and special issue comics for over 20 years now. We own a wide range titles. We bought them and immediately put them in protective covers with backboards, most have never been read. What is the best way to grade them, and is is it possible to have a 10.0 (gem) grade?? Thank you

| part two, I forgot to ask. On the grading guide there are two sets of prices. When I click on the issue # it gives a second and higher set of values. Is this the value range to go by? Sorry for the questions but I am kind of new to the pricing side of the house. For example I have "Blade The vampire hunter" #1 july 1994. Never read. pages white and all the good stuff. The value I see is 140.00. Is this correct? Thanks for the help

Welcome. And hello.
1st. The grading scale is left side raw value and right side CGC Professionally Graded value. Do not use the CGC values to determine comic pricing unless it is encapsulated in a hard plastic case with the appropriate labelling. Such as this ...
2nd. Most if not all of the comics from the 80's and 90's are pretty much common and very little value. There are exceptions though, so for the most part go through the price guide and read the scale for 9.0 and use that as a starting value for raw books. Most collector's consider books picked through at their local comic shop when BRAND NEW to be no better than 9.4 and those that make it to the racks, at best 9.0.

I can't ever recall anything getting a 10, but I could be wrong. I have been out of the game for awhile.
