| This question was posed on another forum... GL's ring doesn't work with yellow right? (I'm not to sure if he still has this weakness, I'm not to current on GL) But since the Sun is yellow shouldn't GL not be able to use his ring anywhere within the vicinity of the Suns rays?

| Green Lantern's one of my favorites, probably second only to Batman, but I'm really not sure...That makes sense, but is light not white? I believe that though the Sun itself is a mixture of red, orange, yellow, white, etc. that the light itself is actually white. So I would say that though GL can use his ring in the light of the Sun, he couldn't use the ring's power on the Sun itself.

| At the beginning of the Green Lantern comics, the rings were inactive against the color yellow. This was because an entity known as Parallax was imprisoned in the Central Battery. Parallax is a creature that feeds off of fear, and that fear comes across as the color yellow. During the “Green Lantern Rebirth” mini-series, the lanterns learned to overcome this flaw in the rings. In overcoming fear, the color yellow holds no bar to them. As far as the "color" of the sun being yellow, I think that it's an illusion, sort of like the oceans being blue - - it water, it's clear, right?! Or what about the sky being blue? Isn't air colorless? Anyway, the sun usually looks white to me (when I'm stupid enough to stare at it) during mid-day and orange or even red at sunset. If it were really yellow, wouldn't everything on Earth have a yellow tint to it?

I think the reason green lanterns ring is not affected by sunlight was that natural light is a combination of all colors (including green and yellow). As previously stated they wrote that weakness out at one point....doesn't mean it won't come back if the writers can figure out a reason for it too. LOL
Alrightyyyyy then!
