Awesome Comics was founded by former Malibu owner, Scott Mitchell Rosenberg and former Imgage Comics
partner Rob Liefeld. Leifeld had published comics at Image through his Extreme comics studio between 1992 and 1996 and
concurrently through his own company, Maximum Press during 1995 and 1996. Rosenberg had sold Malibu to Marvel in 1994.
Awesome Entertainment published 242 comics (including variants) between 1997 and 2001.
