looks big...lots of people...my first one
chrrp! chrrp! chrrp! chrrp! chrrp!shhh...crickets?
My wife and I went on Sunday and stayed the entire day...didn't really need to, but neither of us minded...only picked up a few comics but looked at a lot of really nice stuff (a little pricey too...at least I thought so...my first comicon so I thought things might be cheaper).
Here's some pictures.
Some Ghost Riders I picked up for $1.00 each
also picked up these for $5.00 total (I don't know why I got the Marvel Spotlight...I sort of had it in my hand when I paid )
I also met Tony Moran (Michael Myers : Halloween)...really nice guy
Met a gentleman named Sean Forney (forgive me if I'm foolish for not knowing him off the top of my head) and I really took a liking to his drawings. A very "comic-booky"/cartoon look to his stuff. IMO very cool. Here is a Hulk print I bought and a Hulk sketch he did for me.
All-in-all we had a good time. I do think I will attend more days next year.
Oh yeah...and Star Wars was everywhere
If you live in the area (around metro) the same people that do the Motor City Con have a once monthly con in Livonia that is worth going. Its $3 admission and has a nice selection of comic dealers that usually are willing to deal and have good deals to boot. I try to go to that as often as I can (however I've only hit 1 so far this year). You can see the dates for the little con (X-Trava) on their website: http://www.motorcityconventions.com/
