I personally could care less about negs...before this new feedback system I had 4 negs and about 340 positives...I will not lie or just turn a blind eye in order to not get a neg I even state it at the beginning of all my auctions...to me the feedback system is really overrated anyway...I don't think it's realistic to try and maintain a 100% rating. You're are never going t be able to please 100% of the people all the time no matter what..there are to many variables...D

Me and two other good friends who are also collector/dealers like me are kind of obsessive on feedback lol I have 100% positive feedback so far with a 167 feedback rating. We are sort of competitive about the new star system. I've got 4.8 and 4.9 on three of them, and a stinking 4.6 on shipping and handling charges. I really am just waiting for the day I get my first neg though. It's gonna get me sometime. The whole feedback system is really an almost useless system because it doesn't really display true feedback. The usefulness of the feedback system is basically this: who will send you your item and who is a fraud. It will not accurately give you info about specifics though.

O I don't know. I've found some pretty useful info about sellers when I've taken the time to read the feedback comments, rather than just look at the score. Also, feedback is a good place to see what else the seller has been selling. If I'm looking to bid on a $200 comic and I see that they've never sold anything over $5 in the past, I definitely do some reconsidering.
As for the score, given that almost everyone gives positive feedback, I really only consider it to be a span of 5 points, 95-100. In other words, if a seller has a 95%, I make sure to go over what the issues were as I consider this to be pretty darn low. If everyone's almost always giving positives and you've got 5% who were so unhappy they negged (or neutraled) you, what's going on? ( I don't mean you, King, I mean the the "cosmic you."  )

| So, I might be facing my first negative feedback and I need some opinions: A buyer paid $51.99 +$4.00 shipping for a comic I sold a few weeks ago. He wasn't satisfied, I gave a refund (of $51.99) the day I received it back. My auctions clearly state in the return policy section that I do not refund shipping charges and that the buyer must pay to return the comic to me. Now he has emailed me and said, "Got the partial refund, I'll be posting negative feedback for "item not as described" if I don't get a full refund (+shipping) or positive feedback if it's really a honest mistake and I do. Thanks" If I'm not mistaken, isn't this against ebay policy to use the threat of negative feedback in this manner? I've already contacted ebay about this and I am awaiting their reply. I know it's only $4.00, but I'm not refunding that money, negative or not. Any thoughts?

Stand your ground. If it wasn't part of the terms and they have threatened, you have a good case.

I just got my first neg. I am pissed!That sucks King.
I took a look at this and I think the grades described what defects might have been present on these magazines.
Another case of uninformed buyer and, unfortunately, screwed seller.
