I went with Mark Miller because of the way the question is phrased. It seems to me to nearly relat to Alan Moore in that 20 yrs later we know all the films that's have been made of his work

Mark Miller has the Wanted movie coming out soon and its possible a lot of his other work will be optioned Ala Alan Moore.

Even the new Space War comic hes doing for Image has movie option smacked all over it.

I personally rate Peter Davids work on Star Trek and Hulk very highly

Grant Morrison is brilliant but he can disappear up his own arse  ala the comic Filth , so only Students will ever make a film of some of his stuff.Other times he can be brilliant but he is too inconsistent

I voted for Peter David, but the list would be more representative with some non-superhero writers.

Peter David is just an overall versatile writer. Have you read the current x-factor? Just consistant. Through events and artist changes, he's the reason I read this book.

That said, Bendis has written my two favorite comic runs of all time. Daredevil and Ultimate Spider-man.
