I always enjoyed collecting Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos from the 1960s...but I've noticed that the books aren't all that wanted by collectors and don't seem to be selling for much at all. So, the question comes...should I sell my Sgt. Fury collection?

Sgt. Fury is one of my favorites. It is one of the four titles I actively collect (other three being X-men, Tales of Suspense and Journey Into Mystery). I am going high grade for this run--9.0 or better since they are fairly inexpensive. Sgt. Fury and Dr. Strange are the two most underappreciated Marvel titles in my opinion. There are so many great Sgt. Fury stories out there. Lots of great Ayers art, as well as Severein later on in the run. I don't know why more people don't read them.

Maybe I will think differently when/if I read them, but for me Nick Fury is one of those characters I like in small doses.

Never was super popular among collectors BUT you've got Jack Kirby artwork in, I believe, #1-7,13 + plenty of Kirby covers through 1965-1966.

If you need the money sell otherwise keep and enjoy.

don't sell them yet, at least wait until the avengers movie comes out.  I personally never got into his old series much, I have some of the issues but it sorta operates outside of traditional marvel U so interest isnt all that high.  I'll enventually start picking these up.
