I'm asking as someone apparently has a few boxes full of 80's Superman that they want to trade with me for something.

Before I tell the person yes/no, I want to know if there's even any issues from then that have any sort of value ?

there are literally no valuable issues between 351(when the 80's issues began), thru to the 90's unless u have issue 423 CGC graded at 9.9 mint condition then it is worth 200, so unless u want all of them for an ongoing series, or have a worthless collection to trade that u don't like, there is no way i would suggest it, but that is just my opinion.

this thread's still going eh?

well, i did end up picking up a couple boxes of comics from the fellow(luckily cheap). sadly, only about 5 - 6 comics total were actually worth anything. the rest i gave to my nephew.

It would be fair to say the 80's issues get little attention.

Nothing is currently valuable.

423 stands out from the crowd. After that come the Whitman logo variants.
