Don't know if anyone's noticed but Iron Man #55 prices on ebay have shot through the roof. I'm guessing just from that, SPOILER ALERT, Thanos appearance at end of Avengers. One user graded 7.0 had 52 bids around $202.49. That's insane, but he is rumored to be the main villain in Avengers 2 even though that movie isn't coming till 2014-2015. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this.

Great for those who own the book and bought it cheap. Really bad time to buy this book though.

Ebay and the internet have really changed the speed of information.
Many collectors have always bought on rumor and sold on a bigger rumor. But the internet and the ability to l list something for sale on ebay in minutes has really increased how fast a book can gain value.
Recent example the ToT. I saw a ComicPro variant listed for 50.00 when it was first released. Put it on my watch list, it didn't sell. Seller lowed the price to starting price of 30.00. 2 bids on the last day and I picked it up for 32.00. Several weeks later internet is full of AMC optioned ToT news, now try getting that book for under 150.00.
Back in the day it would have taken weeks, maybe months for news like that to get around to all the regular sellers. Not to mention, 20 years ago prices were based on last years overstreet, so markups weren't an every week type of deal. I know at least 3 LCS in my area that had ToT on the shelf not selling at cover price and now they have it listed 35.00 and up.
As for the IM 55 - its a good book and I have always liked Thanos, no intention of selling my copy but when prices go nuts it seems like to only logical thing to do sometimes. Everything has a price ceiling, and I am certainly not against making obscene profits on small investments. May reason I don't have Hulk 181 anymore, those dollars are hard to ignore on books you are not overly attached to.

"In my time nightmares walked among us... walked and danced. Skewering victims in plain sight. Laying their fears and worst desires out for everyone to see, just to make us laugh. And now nightmares are trapped inside the heads of humans. Pitiful echoes of themselves. I wonder whom they angered so to merit such a fate."

I bought my copy a while ago and I don't intend on selling it either but honestly in my opinion this book was undervalued to begin with, so I'm glad its finally getting some movement. Its a key book with the first appearance of a major villain. Plus there are other characters too besides Thanos, most notably Drax.

It's all good.
If Marvel is planning an Avengers 2 with Thanos as the big bad, to keep interest alive, I'm guessing he will have small bits in whatever Marvel movies come out before then (Iron Man 3, Hulk, Ant Man, Captain America 2, etc.), just to keep the story flowing. So we might not see a slow down for this book, even if it takes 3 years before Avengers 2 hits the big screen.

is an Ant Man movie confirmed? I know Iron Man 3, Thor 2, and Captain America 2 are.
