Hi,
I was on a comic hunt the other day to find this issue, and I ran into a lot of dead ends to find one that was either given a decent CGC graded or a ungraded copy that was considered to be in very good condition or higher.
I eventually found a very decent CGC copy, but it took a long time to find this issue. Is this one of those books that are now in high demand, or has this comic always been hard to find? I haven't seen much said about this comic aside from TOS #57, which is Hawkeye's first appearance. There appears to be more of those out there than this book.

Could be scarce or rare. It really depends on how long it took to find it and where you looked. If it took a month or two I would guess it isn't scarce. If it took over a year or more it is.

This is a real popular book with the (Cold War) crowd...I mean, Khrushchev plans to finish off Stark with agent The Black Widow, who makes her 1st app. here...I'm pretty mystified about how freakin' expensive it is. Rumor has it that it (is ) rare in high grade. I've had a few of them pass through my old store and they were always pretty trashed. I will say the pencil work by Kirby is some of his best...If you are desperate for G-VG try Harley Yee Comics...He has everything...Opps, I just went to his web-site and he ain't got one...See what I mean. Wait! here's one on ebay for 24 bux...it sez it's high grade. Go fetch http://www.ebay.com/itm/9-0-VF-NM-VERY-FINE-NEAR-MIN-TALES-OF-SUSPENSE-52-EURO-VARIANT-1ST-BLACK-WIDOW-/160766222620?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item256e69e11c

There have been over 30 completed ebay sales since January of this year. This leads me to believe it's not that rare, considering this is only one source. Keep looking and you'll find what you're after... with regards to this book of course.
Not quite the same... unless a 1999 German reprint is what you're after.
"In my time nightmares walked among us... walked and danced. Skewering victims in plain sight. Laying their fears and worst desires out for everyone to see, just to make us laugh. And now nightmares are trapped inside the heads of humans. Pitiful echoes of themselves. I wonder whom they angered so to merit such a fate."
I'm going to like comments and play around with the star ratings.

it's interesting that the listings show that a CGC 8.0 grade for this comic went on a bidding war to almost $1,000 - considering I bought this comic for the same label grade only a week ago for roughly half that via a website!

There are lots of idiots out there that almost always use just eBay and end out overpaying. I haven't bought a comic via eBay for a very long time. I look locally then hit many other sources online before going on eBay and more often than not what I want, if they have it at all, is over graded and overpriced BINs (or stuck in a lot of other books i don't need). I am not willing to spend lots of money on books after 1989 (not because i don't like them but because I just not willing to).

As always well, most of the time Bladder, U are right. But, if you are patient and have some comic collecting smarts, there are deals to be had on Ebay... The trouble with Ebay-only buyers is: Either money is no object or they're down-right dumb. And, face it, Ebay is fairly safe..."Learn - and ye shall see with new eyes." People should (learn)...Ebay= Comic book (dealers)=skimpy deals. But really mostly, I buy from my comic hunter, The Comic Guy back east or I'm on Craig's List because they have more grand-ma's trying to get rid of and make a lil' scratch off of selling their dead husband's funny book collection.

I've been looking for this book for a while now. (6 months... right copy, right deal)
It's not "rare" , but it appears to be very "popular" - every copy i see pretty much sells...
1st appearance books always are...
I recently saw a CGC 8.0 & 9.0 sell for close to 1,000 bucks -
There's a 9.4 coming up in May on auction - I imagine it's go over 1200.... maybe more w/ Avengers movie out -
There is also aog uk & the German reprint... Be aware of which you are buying -
a low end copy is gonna gover over 100 bucks.... but the og uk one is a pit cheaper...
good luck!
