i am starting a c.b. collection and i already have 28 comic books, but there are some of y'all with 40000 books and i wanna know how you get that many?

they have that many comics because they've been collecting for a long time and enjoy the hobby, plus I'm sure some have had a relative pass comics down to them

eBay. I tend to buy stuff in big lots because it's cheaper on a per book basis.

Buy more comic books.

I had about 70 or so from when I was little. Over the last few years I picked up a lot of little cheap stuff at conventions. Then this last year I just started buying up cheap runs of comics and buying new comics. So my collection jumped from a short box up to 5 long boxes and then some.

check ebay for comic lots.. i got 11480 issues for 4000k it was worth every penny...

ok i thought 12 long boxes is alot lol i found hitting the bins at the local shops sometimes can find gems in the .50 boxes. trust me adds up too. another check craigslist or ebay for lots. just careful if you are in a relationship alot of the ladies are less understanding when growing large collections. lol trust me lol

Wow, 4000k = $4,000,000. You must have had some awesome issues in there!!!
But yeah, buying in large lots is the way to go, especially if you're not sure exactly what you like. Many times, you can buy a large lot for the price of just one of the new variant issues that come out 8 times a month per book.
