The comic book industry has lost veteran comic book artist John Severin who passed away athe age of 90. Severin was one of the last of the legendary EC artists. He was well known for his distinct style and line work.

He was best known for his work in western, war, and humor titles. Severin penciled war comics Two-Fisted Tales and Frone Combat for EC Comics, and was part of the core creative group who founded MAD and he also was heavily involved with the title Cracked. During his work at Marvel Comics he worked on titles including Incredible Hulk, Punisher, Rawhide Kid, Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos, and many others. He also worked on the title Witchfinder at Darkhorse comics.

From all of us at ComicsPriceGuide.com our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

A statement from the family has been released at The Beat.
