A CGC Certified 7.0 Extensive Professional restored copy of Action Comics #1 with cream to off-white pages sold for $120,100 after receiving 38 bids on eBay. This DC Golden key is considered the grail of comic books and featured the origin and first appearance of Superman. This comic book is resposible for ushering in the Golden Age of comics and was the first superhero comic book.
The book had Extensive Professional restoration according to CGC which included color touch, pieces added, tear seals, cleaned, reinforced, with the first wrap married from another copy of Action Comics #1.
According to the the CGC Census there are 56 copies certified with the highest certified copy being a lone copy in 9.0 which sold for a record breaking $2.1 million dollars in 2011.
