The word rare is typically overused when describing collectibles. In this case the word is completely correct. A CGC certified 5.0 copy of the rarest DC Golden Age comic book recently sold on eBay. The book in questions is New Adventure Comics #26 which features an interior cover ad for Action Comics #1. The copy sold after received 29 bids and had cream to off-white pages. This book featured pre-hero work by comic notables including Jerry Siegel, Craig Flessel, Bob Kane, and Joe Shuster.

This book was the most difficult issue from DC Comics. Two DC completist searched high and low to locate issue specific issue for their collections and it was the last book they needed to acquire. Both collectors have every newsstand DC comic to date! The CGC Census numbers point out also how rare this book is. According to the the CGC Census there are four copies that are graded with two copies tied in 5.0 as the highest certifed.
