There are some very hardcore fans of independent comics out there. Recently a copy of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 graded at 9.6 by CGC sold for $5,988.00 on eBay. It is a first edition as published by Mirage Studios in 1984. The book also features a wonderful cover by Kevin Eastman.
The book holds the very first appearance of the Ninja Turtles. It is listed as having off-white to white pages. According to the CGC Census there are 16 other copies of this title graded at 9.6.
