Amazing, Incredible, and Fantastic are just a few of the adjectives used to describe the lifelong collection of Milwaukee resident Russ Ayers. For their Inaugural May 13th-21st, 2011 Comic Book & Toy Auction, MEARS Online Auctions (www.mearsonlineauctions.com), is presenting a collection of 7,000+ never before seen, fresh to the hobby books. This is a no reserve auction!

Starting at the age of 10 years old, Russ started his collection with an emphasis on War Comic titles. Inspired by his father's service during WWII, Russ collected all of the War titles that he could find. USA Comic #10 featuring Captain America is included in the sale.

By 1970, Russ became a regular at all of the Milwaukee area comic book stores. On a weekly basis with money earned from odd jobs, Russ purchased near complete runs of many War Titles, Super Man, Spiderman, and Silver and Bronze age Marvels over the next 25 years. He expanded his collecting circle by car pooling with other local Milwaukee enthusiast and attended a monthly Comic Book show in the Chicago area. In 1990, Russ left the collecting world, and carefully stored his collection in his boyhood home. Untouched for the next 21 years, MEARS Online Auctions is proud to present the collection.

Authenticity, research, and a professional presentation of the materials is a key to our success. Our 15,000 square foot facility and showroom allows us to efficiently process collections of any variety. We have hired additional staff to help research, catalog, and write the lot descriptions. Our professional photography department will continue to take state of the art images which will allow our bidders to see items in great detail."
