The original art for a full page Sunday Krazy Kat sold for $13,347 on eBay. The artwork by George Herriman holds all three of the strip's major characters, Krazy, Ignatz and Offissa Pup. In addition to the main players, the strip also holds nine ghosts of Krazy's "Dear Ole' Uncle".
One of the most beloved and respected strips of all time; Krazy Kat has been pleasing collectors and fans ever since it first appeared in 1913. Its existential motifs as well as the purity and strength of Herriman's pen and pencil line make an original one of the most valuable pieces in any collector's collection. For many the main feature is the way Herriman plays with the English language inside each panel. Others just enjoy the stark landscape that Herriman creates.
