Featuring an iconic cover by R. Crumb dating to the from the nascent days of Underground Comics, a VF+ copy of Zap #0 recently sold on eBay $750.00. The book is considered to be one of the most important books ever in the history of Underground Comics. Many consier Zap #0 to be the actual starting point in Underground comic publishing history.
Published in 1968 by Charles Plymell this first issue was sold by Crumb and others on the streets of San Francisco. Determined to make sure that the book was available to people, they did what they could to get the book into the public's hands. Some sold that first issue from a baby carriage.
The title is still being published today with the last issue, #15, published in 2005. Crumb, whose most recent work on the The Book of Genesis Illustrated (2005) is still a top seller, is considered to be one of the greatest American Comic artists of all time.
