With a blast of cold sitting on top of one-third of the country, checking out eBay listings is a great way to pass the time. In the past few days a copy of Superman #75 Platinum CGC SS 9.8 signed by Louise Simonson realized $1,500.00
The seller also threw in an impressive list of freebies with the book. These included copies of DC Direct #57 Doomsday is Coming also signed by Louise Simonson, Justice League of America #69 sigend by Louise Simonson and Dan Jurgens as well as several other books. The CGC Census lists the copy of Superman #75 as the highest graded copy in the Signature Series with seven others at the same grade.
As a point of comparison, another copy of the Platimun Edition of Superman #75 CGC 9.8, but not signed, went for $630.
Another CGC Signature Series Title, Fantastic Four #4 CGC SS 4.0 and signed by Stan Lee sold for $700.00. One other copy of the title is listed in the Census as part of the SS at 4.0 with only 6 others graded higher. While we are looking at Signature Series books on eBay, a copy of Spider-Man #1 Platinum CGC SS 9.6 sold for $399.00 It is signed by both Stan Lee and Todd McFarlane.
Another Marvel title, this time a copy of Uncanny X-Men #94 CGC 9.4, with the second appearance of Nightcrawler, went for $1,387.80. The book is one of three graded in 9.4.
