This week eBay had a little bit of everything when it came to listings for original art. There were some superheroes, Linus and even an angel. Most of the interesting sales come in as the week ended.

Neal Adams pencil work (with inks by Tom Palmer) for Avengers #94, p. 19 realized $9,100. The full page, which is also signed by Adams, is a perfect example of the best oaf Adams. Multiple characters, including Nick Fury, Thor, The Vision and Goliath are all featured in the five dramatic panels.

Earlier today the splash page from Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn II #5 brought $300. The art features GL and Sinestro aboard a floating rock in space as the two ring-wielders wonder why Sinestro’s people would revolt against him (For most of us the answer is easy, he’s Sinestro). It may not seem like crazy money, but it is a solid price and also a good indicator of the strength of the original art marketplace.

The pencils are by Mark Bright with inks by Romeo Tanghal. The quietness of the piece sets it apart from so many other splash pages as it captures two of the most important Silver Age figures in a rare moment of reflection (as opposed to beating each other’s brains in).

At the other end of the spectrum. A three panel Peanuts daily by Charles Schulz realized $12,438. Featuring Linus, the art is dated July 2, 1990. It came from several pieces that Charles Schulz had donated to the San Francisco Comic Art Museum and included a COA.

A beautiful framed painting by Boris Vallejo just brought $4,000. The art was used for card #62 in the 1990 trading card series The Best of Boris. The painting is titled Numdja and features a beautiful woman dreaming of being held in the arms of an angel.
