This week Heritage is listing close to 500 books in its weekly auction. Among the highlights are over 100 Golden Age classics. As always, there is also a great mixture of Silver, Bronze and Modern books with some interesting CGC titles mixed in from each time period.

First up is Captain Marvel #35 showcasing an inquisitive Captain Marvel using a Microscope to check out himself in miniature? The cover not only highlights two images of Cap, but also includes a classic Captain Marvel phrase, “Holey Moley!” as well. CGC graded as 7.0, the copy is listed in the CGC census as one of two in this grade with only 8 higher.

Looking at non-graded books, there is a short run of several issues of All-Star Comics from DC. The series always had iconic covers but the best one may be #22 from Dec 1944. Hawkman is the flag bearer as Wonder Woman, Starman, Spectre, Johnny Thunder, The Atom and Hourman all follow him saluting. Some feel the ghostly image of the woman on the splash page in this issue is a swipe/hello from the Blue Fairy in the Pinocchio movie! This is a classic tale by Gardner Foxwith Sheldon Moldoff art on the Hawkman story.

How about Superman battling two robots at once? CGC Graded at 5.5, Action #36 is listed in the Census with only 5 at this grade.

When it comes to covers, EC seldom disappoints. Weird Fantasy #20 is CGC Graded 8. The census lists only 3 at this grade. The cover is by the iconic Al Feldstein.

Even if none of these classics catches your eye, there are still close to 500 other books in the event. The auction will begin to close on January on Sunday January 23. You can visit Heritage at
