Press Release

Bidding in the November/December Event Auction is well underway and the company is pleased to announce a late addition, Action Comics #1, CGC Certified 1.8.

"We never get tired of selling these babies!" said Rob Reynolds, Director of Consignments. "We were all excited about the auction as it stood, then we got the phone call, and the greatest auction ever got even better. It's always a great feeling having an Action Comics #1 in an auction."

ComicConnect.com highlights the debut of the Suscha News Collection in their November/December Event Auction which started Wednesday, November 10, 2010.

"This stunning collection was amassed by one of the most fastidious collectors I've ever met," said Vincent Zurzolo of ComicConnect.com. "He made a deal with a comic book distributor that allowed him access to newly arrived comics before anyone else got their hands on them."

Besides low-distribution titles that many collectors just never saw, the original owner of the Suscha News Pedigree would "carefully go through distributor boxes filled with the same issue of a book. I'd get it down to around a dozen or so mint copies of a given book to try to find the most mint copies in the group. I was looking for books with the best centering, the shiniest staples, the flattest covers and the sharpest top and bottom of the spine," he said. The collection dates back to the mid 1960s and ends in 1976 totaling almost 50 boxes of comic books.

Just a very small selection from the Suscha News Pedigree in the November/December Event Auction include:
Amazing Spider-Man #14, Certified CGC 9.0; Amazing Spider-Man #17, CGC Certified 9.0; Amazing Spider-Man #21, CGC Certified 9.4; Amazing Spider-Man # 50, CGC Certified 9.4; Avengers #9, CGC Certified 9.2; Avengers #13, CGC Certified 9.8; Avengers #28, CGC Certified 9.6; Avengers #34, CGC Certified 9.6; Giant-Size Spider-Man #4, CGC Certified 9.8; Incredible Hulk #181, CGC Certified 9.8.

Over 75 Suscha News Pedigree comics are now available for bids on ComicConnect.com.

Along with the debut of this eagerly anticipated new pedigree collection, collectors the world over are panting over the two headlining pieces of original art, the covers to Superman #14 and Detective Comics #69 from the Jerry Robinson Collection. "It's remarkable that Mr. Robinson had the foresight to save these iconic pieces from the garbage heap, as often was the case," said Rob Reynolds, Director of Consignments, "and it's simply amazing that we have them up for auction."

Other items that must be mentioned: X-Men #2 Jack Kirby Splash Page; Ghost Rider #9 Gil Kane cover; Fantastic Four Annual #4 Jack Kirby page 2; and many more.

ComicConnect.com is proud to represent the L.B. Cole Estate Collection in the November/December Event Auction. Throughout his career, L.B. Cole saved hundreds of pieces of original art, comics, and cover proofs from the comic books he worked on. The entire estate is offered without reserve.
