Pedigree Comics announcesd this week that they have received a consignment of Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos run and the #1 CGC Registry Set for the company’s upcoming Grand Auction. The auction begins Monday, November 15, 2010 and runs through Monday, November 22, 2010. Over 300 high-grade comic books will be available for auction with no Buyers Premium. The minimum bid is $100.00 and almost every book listed in the auction will have no reserve
This run was collected by the consignor over a course of a number of years, as he bought the highest certified issue he could find of this undervalued Silver Age title and would then purchase an upgrade on an issue if one became available. It comprises 76 issues between #1 and #90 and a few Sgt. Fury Annuals, all (save for 3 issues) in 9.4 and higher CGC certified grade, most in 9.6 and higher. All of the books are being offered without reserve. In addition, many of the books (over 20) offered in the set comes from one recognized Silver Age pedigree/collection or another, including Boston, Golden State, Hollywood Hills, Massachusetts, Mile High II, Oakland and Winnipeg.
