Doug Schmell, CEO and President of Pedigree Comics, reports that his company has just received over 160 newly certified ultra high grade Marvels and DC’s and that all the books will be available in the upcoming Grand Auction. The auction began on Sunday night, April 18th, at 8:00 p.m. EST and lasts for ten (10) days, with the first half of books ending the night of Wednesday, April 28th and the remaining half ending on Thursday night, April 29th. Because of the recent flurry of consignments and this latest batch of CGC books, there will be approximately 600 incredible certified comic books to choose from, almost all in the 9.4 to 9.8 range. Many of the new books have just been added to the Auction Preview and the rest will be uploaded before Sunday night. A handful will be added next week.
This Grand Auction, the company’s 8th since it began featuring live auctions back in July, 2008, promises to be the best one yet and is shaping into a can’t-miss event, loaded with comics for every possible high grade collector out there, ranging in values of $100 to $250,000. According to Mr. Schmell, because of the number of ultra high grade books and key issues, including the gorgeous and only 9.2 copy of Tales to Astonish #27 just recently consigned, he expects the final auction sales figure to reach $1,000,000.00, making it the second Grand Auction to exceed the 7 figure mark. The latest group of books, over 160 in total recently graded over the past week, includes some incredible ultra high grade Silver and Bronze Age Marvels and DC’s that will blow you away. Almost every major title is represented with over 95% in 9.4, 9.6 and 9.8 certified condition. As an addedbonus, most of the books have white pages.
