ComicConnect.com recently announced the sale of a beautiful copy of Detective Comics #27 CGC 6.0 for $575,000. This sets the new world record price for 1939’s very first appearance of Batman in Fine 6.0 condition, topping the previous publicly recorded sale price of $170,000 for a Fine 6.0 made in December 2007.

ComicConnect.com and Metropolis Collectibles’ CEO, Stephen Fishler, had this to say: “So many Detective 27's have been restored over the last 30 years, leaving a very small pool of nicer unrestored copies. The bottom line is that as long as Batman remains in the public eye, and there is no doubt he will, Detective 27's will remain one of the cornerstones of 20th Century pop culture.”

Stephen’s business partner and COO of ComicConnect.com and Metropolis Collectibles, Vincent Zurzolo, added, “Copies of Detective 27 will always appreciate in value due to the simple fact that there will always be yet another collector, waiting just around the corner, whose dream has always been to own a Detective 27.”
