The vaunted God of Thunder, Thor, will be well represented in the upcoming Pedigree Comics Grand Auction. According to Pedigree’s President and CEO, Doug Schmell, the auction, which starts the night of Sunday, April 18th and lasts for 10 days until the evening of Wednesday, April 28th, will feature a brand new run of CGC certified 9.8 and 9.6 copies of Thor, over 30 issues in total, plus a few ultra high grade issues of the title’s predecessor, Journey Into Mystery. The Thor run bridges both the late Silver Age (1960’s) and the beginning of the Bronze Age (1970’s) and contains a few pedigreed copies plus a majority of copies with white pages (more than half with the rest in off-white to white).
“Thor is an incredibly popular title right now due to the anticipation of the upcoming motion picture release. I have seen increased interest and sales over the past few months in both Journey Into Mystery and Thor back issues. The run starts with Journey Into Mystery #120 and ends with Thor #199, with almost half the books in CGC 9.8. In addition, there is a gorgeous 9.0 copy of Thor’s origin and first appearance in Journey Into Mystery #83, one of the toughest to find in high grade Marvel keys. Check out this unbelievable high grade run”, said Schmell.

Prospective consignors can also upload their own scans, item information, descriptions and reserve amounts for the auction by utilizing the Automated Consignment System. You will then be able to enter the Pedigree Comics Consignment Management System and upload your own CGC certified books and magazines. We will receive an email automatically once you have uploaded the information and we will then review the information imparted for accuracy.
