Warner Bros. confirmed this week that the upcoming Green Lantern film, starring Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern Hal Jordan, will be shot in 3D. Utilizing the emerging 3D filming technology to help bring Jordan's green constructs to life on the silver screen next year, the film, which will also star Blake Lively and Mark Strong, focuses on the origin story of Hal Jordan and his induction into the Green Lantern Corp.
Green Lantern, which is set to hit theatres in 2011, is speculated to be the foundation film on which Warner Bros. will build its DC Universe film francize, ultimately leading to a possible Justice League film, a la Marvel Studios' Avengers, but nothing has been confirmed from Warner Bros. or DC Entertainment as of yet.
