According to Heritage Auction Galleries, a rare copy of Detective Comics #27, CGC Certified 8.0 has sold today for a massive $1,075,500.00. This announcement comes mere days after the million-dollar-sale of a CGC Certified 8.0 copy of Action Comics #1 through comicconnect.com.

"What a milestone event this week has been for the rare comic book market. We've witnessed two seven-figure transactions within days of each other," said Tom Gordon III, President of ComicsPriceGuide.com. "These two sales put comic books on the map in regards to the serious market for them. For a long period of time there has been a certain public opinion or stigma that comics were for just kids and was a childish field. The hobby has witnessed many $100,000+ transactions in the past few years, but has now broken through the proverbial ceiling that has kept this area of collectibles from entering the next level."

Despite the state of the economy, these two sales have surely set a new precident for the collector market and the record-setting numbers that both books received will undoubtedly be reflected in other key books from the Golden, Silver and Bronze Ages in the months to come. Today detective stories had a great market. It is because the new generation children want detective stories to read. So by knowing their need the comic book publishers are published new detective comic books. By the former reasons the detective comics had a great market and there are a million dollar sale is done by the comic book company.  The main advantage of these comics books are it contains pictures along with the story. So children with less knowledge in reading also got idea about the story by seeing the pictures.

$1 million for a comic is mental! I wonder how many people bought that comic and have since thrown it away (probably within weeks of buying it) and are now kicking them selves!
