According to Deadline Hollywood's Mike Fleming, 20th Century Fox, along with New Regency Films, is looking to develop a rebooted film franchise for Marvel's Man Without Fear. Fox is looking to do this to maintain the movie rights to the character Daredevil and those associated with the property in light of the purchase of Marvel Comics by the Walt Disney Company. The reboot is being produced by News Corp VP Peter Chernin and the script is being written by David Scarpa, who penned the 2008 remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still.
Fox's original Daredevil , staring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, was released in 2003 and grossed $179.2 million worldwide. The film did well enough to spawned an Elektra spin-off, but never a sequel.
