ComicsPriceGuide.com has just learned that Pedigree Comics is adding an incredible selection of ultra high grade Silver Age Marvels and DC's plus some top of the census Bronze Age Marvel keys to their January Grand Auction. The auction, which begins on Monday night, January 18th and lasts for ten days until Thursday evening, January 28th, is gearing up to be another fabulous opportunity to bid on and purchase some unbelievable CGC certified books. In the wake of just last week receiving on consignment the White Mountain copy of Fantastic Four #1 (9.2) and a killer group of early X-Men (#1 in 9.2 and #s 2-4 in 9.4), Doug Schmell, CEO of Pedigree, now indicates that the highest graded copy of Daredevil #1, a CGC graded 9.6, will be featured in the auction as well as the best known examples of X-Men #94 (9.8 with white pages), Giant-Size X-Men #1 (9.8 with white pages) and Amazing Spider-Man #129 (9.8 with off-white to white pages). In addition, the single highest certified copies of Atom #5 (9.6), #7 (9.8) and #8 (9.8) from the Pacific Coast Collection will be in the auction as well.

According to Schmell, the Daredevil #1 represents the first time a 9.6 (Near-Mint Plus) copy has ever been offered for sale. While there are a couple of handfuls of Daredevil #1's already CGC certified at 9.4 (17), only four examples (out of over 1,400 submitted) have ever made it to 9.6. The issue has been red hot as of late, with Pedigree selling three 9.4 copies in their last few Grand Auctions, each at a new record price, the last one fetching over $23,000 just last month. The comic is notable for introducing the blind super-hero, Daredevil, and includes his origin as well. The copy offered for sale in the upcoming auction is "exactly centered and registered, with amazingly sharp edges and corners and a pristine spine. It has exceptional colors and ink reflectivity and fresh off-white pages. It has been part of a private collection for the past four years and looks virtually unopened and never read".

The X-Men #94 is the nicest existing copy, the only one to receive the 9.8 grade and the highest page quality designation of white. Plus, whereas the other three known 9.8's have some form of a miswrap, this copy is perfectly cut and centered, very rare for an X-Men 94. According to Schmell, his company has sold two of the 9.8's, one for $25,000 in 2006 and the last one in the August Grand Auction for $27,779, and this newly graded copy is even nicer. Published in August, 1975, it features the second ever appearance of the new X-Men, Giant-Size X-Men #1 is the first and starts their impressive and award-winning run.

There will be over 200 high grade Silver and Bronze Age Marvels and DC's to choose from, including over 30 brand new beauties from the Mound City Collection and over 20 early Aquamans and Metal Men from the Pacific Coast Collection, all in 9.4 to 9.8 condition! You can start viewing all these books and many others in the Auction Preview beginning in early January.

Pedigree Comics is now accepting consignments for the January Grand auction and will continue to do so even after the auction commencement, until Friday, January 21st. Do yourself a favor and go through your CGC graded books now in order to get first billing for the upcoming auction. Pedigree aggressively markets and advertises their auctions so the sooner your consignments are included, the more publicity and attention they will receive. In addition, the higher the value of your book(s) that sell in the auction the more money you take home under Pedigree's Climbing Scale. Pedigree consistently sets new sales records for Silver and Bronze Age comics in each Grand Auction.

Prospective consignors can also upload their own scans, item information, descriptions and reserve amounts for the Grand Auction by utilizing the Automated Consignment System. It is actually very easy and fun to do. Just register onto the site, click "Customer Page" under "Your Account" and then click "Consignments" (under "Auctions"). You will then be able to enter the Pedigree Comics Consignment Management System and upload your own CGC certified books and magazines. Pedigree Comics will receive an email automatically once you have uploaded the information and they will then review the information imparted for accuracy. The item(s) will then be added to the January Grand Auction to be bid on.
