CPG has been informed by Doug Schmell, President and CEO of Pedigree Comics, Inc., that his company's most recent Grand Auction, a "live", time-based online auction for high end CGC certified comics, was a phenomenal success. Ending on Tuesday night, August 25th, the auction sales stood at just over One Million Dollars, and with the post-auction deals, the final auction tally was at $1.1 Million. This 5th Grand Auction was easily the company's best so far and stands as one of the best online auctions yet for ultra high grade Silver and Bronze Age Marvel Comics. The highlight of the auction was the incredible and record-breaking sales of the early to mid 1960's Fantastic Four issues, most of which came from a noted private collection. Almost every Fantastic Four in the Grand Auction was the highest or second highest CGC rated copy and the bidding was furious amongst a number of high grade collectors. Almost every issue sold at a record price with even a few selling after the auction had ended. Fantastic Fours have been selling incredibly well for the past 6 months or so but even Pedigree's lofty expectations were exceeded by these sales:

Prospective consignors can also upload their own scans, item information, descriptions and reserve amounts for the Grand Auction by utilizing the Automated Consignment System. It is actually very easy and fun to do. Just register onto the site, click "Customer Page" under "Your Account" and then click "Consignments" (under "Auctions"). You will then be able to enter the Pedigree Comics Consignment Management System and upload your own CGC certified books and magazines. Pedigree Comics will receive an email automatically once you have uploaded the information and they will then review the information imparted for accuracy. The item(s) will then be added to the November Grand Auction to be bid on.
