Last week at San Diego Comic Con, the staff of Metropolis Collectibles often had conversations with two very distinctive types of customers.  One group consisted of the happy customers who didn’t leave the convention empty-handed and instead purchased the comics they wanted to get.  They got the comics because they simply asked Metropolis to bring specific comics for them to see at the show.  The other group didn’t bother, and kicked themselves for not asking.  For these purposes, in homage to Highlights Magazine, we will call these customers “Goofus” and “Gallant”.  The conversations went a little something like this:

Goofus: “Man, I’ve been looking all over for [insert name of comic].  I’d give anything to find it, but nobody here has it.  Do you have any?”

 
Metropolis: “Yeah, we’ve got 10 copies of that issue in our inventory back in NYC.  Didn’t you get the message to contact us?  We would have gladly brought it out for you.” 

Goofus: “Oh yeah.  I guess I just didn’t get around to emailing. The effort entailed in typing an email and clicking send was just too insurmountable.  Oh well.  I’m bummed.  I went to this convention, and all I got was this stupid T-shirt.” 

…and here is how the other conversations went. 

Gallant: “Hi.  I’m here to see the comics you pulled for me.”
 
Metropolis: “Of course. We have them set aside for you right here.”

Gallant: “Awesome!  It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to get these comics, and now they are mine ALL MINE!”

The moral of this story is that Metropolis is happy to bring comics out for you to see at Wizard World Chicago.  There is no obligation to buy, they simply ask that collectors make serious inquiries only.  They will gladly pull the comics and bring them for your review.  Metropolis has over 150,000 Golden, Silver & Bronze Age comics in inventory, and will be set up at booth 1510 at Wizard World Chicago.
