A CGC-certified 9.4 copy of Star Trek #1 featuring the variant back cover was purchased on eBay for $4,500 when the buyer used the eBay Buy It Now option. The CGC Census notes a total of 138 certified copies of the photo back cover variant with the highest graded example being a lone 9.6 copy. High-grade Star Trek comics have always been a favorite with collectors, but are seeing additional interest due to the upcoming film.
