Hero Initiative will make available its first-ever limited edition Convention Sketchbook at the Emerald City Comicon in Seattle, WA on April 4th and 5th.  The book features an original cover by legendary artist Tim Sale, well-known for his illustrations in Spider-Man: Blue, and Batman: The Long Halloween. The books retail for $20 each, and production is strictly limited to 200 hand-numbered copies. Artwork from 22 top artists is featured, including works from Dan Brereton, Mike Choi, Dave Johnson, Joseph Michael Linsner and Paul Smith. The Hero Initiative Emerald City Comicon Sketchbook will be available exclusively at Hero’s booth, #507 on the floor.

In addition, Hero Initiative will be selling collectible “Hero Hand” pins for $1 each. During the convention, Hero’s secret “prize patrol” will be roaming the convention floor and one daily attendee will win a Hero “swag bag” filled with great comics and collectible items.  The swag bag is valued at $135. Other Hero pins in different designs will also be available, and here’s a hint—you might stand out a little more if you’re wearing multiple pins!

As part of Hero’s mission, proceeds from the sketchbook, pins, and all other activities will benefit artists in need. The non-profit organization has granted over $400,000 in economic support to comic book veterans.

And no Hero Initiative convention stop would be complete without a great lineup of writers and artists who will be signing at the Hero booth. Hero is pleased to welcome:

Hero is also excited to offer a great deal in conjunction with its partners at CGC, Comics Guaranty Corporation. All existing Hero members should bring their membership cards, and get a 10% discount on grading services at CGC’s booth, #712. If you’re not a member yet, sign up on site at the Hero booth, and you’ll be issued a temporary card to get your discount.

“Hero Initiative is such a great cause we are very happy to be offering this huge opportunity for their members. This is one of the only ways anyone can get a discount on CGC certification at a convention. People should take advantage of this offer and support the wonderful Hero Initiative charity,” said Paul Litch of CGC.
