Following Thursday's announcement by the New York Times, Marvel would like to congratulate the seven teams of creators whose work made their historic debut on the New York Times Best Selling Graphic Books list. Marvel's titles had an impressive showing on both the hardcover and softcover lists.
"We're thrilled to see this important recognition for the comics industry!" said David Gabriel, Senior Vice Presidend of Sales at Marvel Comics. "Over the past year, we've worked very closely with the New York Times and it's exciting to see that comic creators as well as the entire industry can be given this honor."
Debuting on the hardcover list was Mighty Avengers Assemble by Brian Michael Bendis, Frank Cho, and Mark Bagley and Incredible Hercules: Love and War by Greg Pak, Fred Van Lente , Clayton Henry and Salva Espin.
Debuting on the softcover list was Secret Invasion: Runaways/Young Avengers by Christopher Yost and Takeshi Miyazawa, Secret Invasion: Black Panther by Jason Aaron and Jefte Palo, Captain America , Volume 3 by Ed Brubaker, Steve Epting, Roberto De La Torre, and Luke Ross, X-Men: Legacy – Sins of the Father by Mike Carey and Scot Eaton, and Uncanny X-Men: End of History, Volume 1 by Chris Claremont and Alan Davis.
Marvel urges retailers to check their orders on these New York Times Best Sellers as this list reaches a new audience and generate even more buzz around these already great books!
