Although rumors of Warner Bros. canceling their planned re-release of last summer’s blockbuster, The Dark Knight, this January have been circulating on the Internet, the studio confirmed this week that they will indeed be re-releasing the nearly $1 billion grossing film.
An official announcement from IMAX is forthcoming, but fans—and those few who missed out on Christopher Nolan’s record-breaking film—will have a second chance to see The Dark Knight on the big screen.
The film, which took in $996.1 million worldwide, should easily overcome that billion-dollar hurdle with the film’s re-release. The Dark Knight DVD hits stores next Tuesday, December 9, 2008, just in time for holiday shopping.
