A cover recreation of Action Comics #40 by noted Golden Age comic artist Fred Ray brought $3,800 on eBay. The original art was circa. 1980s and featured pen and ink with watercolor and tempura and brush on paper, signed by the artist on the lower right margin. The art measured 18 1/2" x 14 1/4" was in excellent condition and was framed and double matted.
