The latest ComicLink Featured Focused Auction, ending today, Tuesday thru Friday, contains over 1,800 lots of vintage comics and original comic art. The vintage comic book segment ends next Tuesday thru Thursday, and the original art segment of the auction ends next Friday. There are over 1,500 CGC graded comic books in this auction, others professionally graded by ComicLink and over 100 original comic art lots. Comic book lots from the Golden Age range from major keys like Superman #1 in CGC 5.0 to Sensation Comics #1 CGC 8.0, rarely seen high-grade Batman and Detective Comics issues with great covers, and pedigree examples from collections such as the Gaines File and Mile High collections. Silver and Bronze Age issues range from Incredible Hulk #1 in CGC 8.5 to the rare Aquaman #1 in CGC 9.4, to Fantastic Four #12 in CGC 9.0, Incredible Hulk #181 in CGC 9.8 (1st Wolverine), and House of Secrets #92 CGC 9.6 (1st Swamp Thing). Original comic art lots range from Incredible Hulk origin pages that have not seen the light of day in many years, to work from great artists like Frank Miller and George Perez, to work by icons like Frank Frazetta and Graham Ingels. Other impressive items within this auction are the rare Siegel and Shuster Superman "prototype" fanzine published years prior to Superman being introduced by DC in Action Comics #1 and a Superman costume worn in the movies by Christopher Reeve.  To view all auction lots and place your bids, click here.

Sellers: ComicLink is now accepting seller consignments for upcoming auctions. The deadline for including items within the September Focused auction, which starts September 2, 2008 is fast approaching and it is also time to start reserving slots within our next blockbuster Featured Focused Auction which starts in November. If you are interested in selling in upcoming ComicLink auctions, simply mailto:buysell@comiclink.com or call 718-246-0300 for more information. And, if auction is not your preferred method of sale, registered sellers may also add items to the Comic Book Exchange and Comic Art Exchange at any time. There are over 13,000 vintage CGC Graded comic books currently available. New listings are added by sellers throughout every day.

Here is just a small sample of other comic book and original art highlights within this blockuster auction:

  • The Collection of Bill Milano: We are proud to present to our bidders a collection of 63 key comic books from the Bill Milano collection.  In 1990, Bill fell in love with the comic book genre and with the purchase of his first copy of The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide, he also became aware that comic books were well worth investing in.  He  had a great eye for key and high-grade material and picked off the stuff whenever he could.  Bill never did get into reading the new comics, but if it was old, scarce, and a key issue, Bill was interested!  Now, 18 years later, Bill has decided that he's going to turn a small batch of books in for a Ferrari -- not too shabby, Bill!

  • Incredible, Ultra high-grade Amazing Spider-Man examples:
    This is one of the best Amazing Spider-Man offerings that we have ever had the opportunity to present to our bidders.  Some of the breathtaking highlights include: Amazing Spider-Man #6, #8, #9, #12, #18, #19, #26, #19, #32, #33, #35, #38, #39, #42, #44, #45, #49, #52, #56, #61, #69, #73, #74, #75, #80, #86, #89, #93 and others all in CGC 9.6.  And, #19, #56, , #57, #59, #60, #62, #64, #65, #77, #88, #97, #122, #123, #125, #135, #136, #138, and #163 in CGC 9.8.

  • Some "Incredible" original art Hulk pages that have not seen the light of day in years, including Origin and Transformation pages from issue #4, by Jack Kirby and from issue #102 by Marie Severin, as well as a fantastic Steve Ditko page from issue #6.  Also a moody Kirby page where Hulk crosses over into Eternals #15.  Another great Kirby piece in the auction is ultimate Jack Kirby monster cover (recreation) Strange Tales #89 (FIN FANG FOOM!).
  • Many more highlights are in this auction!
If you would like to sell in an upcoming ComicLink auction, simply e-mail your list to buysell@comiclink.com or contact Douglas Gillock, Tomis Erb or Josh Nathanson at 718-246-0300.  If you are new to ComicLink, we also suggest you explore buying and selling on the Comic Book Exchange (where there are over 13,000 vintage CGC Graded comic books available), and the Comic Art Exchange where there is a wide selection of comic book art and frequent updates.  Registered sellers can list items in these sections at any time, and record-breaking prices are commonly realized.
