Steve Borock has selected ComicLink as the venue to sell a major portion of his original art collection.   Many of you know Steve as the President and Primary Grader at CGC. What many of you might not know is that Steve was one of the top collectors of high grade Golden and Silver Age comic books before being tapped as CGC’s # 1 guy. After he started working for CGC in 2000, Steve decided that while he still likes to read new comics, he would transition his collecting fever towards original comic book art.

As Steve puts it, "having been bitten by the collecting bug", he "needed to find another way to stay involved as a collector in the hobby he loves."  Steve chose to concentrate on getting an amazing cover or splash page of every artist he loved that could be framed and hung up in the CGC grading room. His policy was, if he did not love seeing it everyday, why have it. Over the last eight years, Steve has amassed quite a collection of covers and splash pages by our hobby’s top artists.  Now once again, Steve has slightly changed the way he is going about collecting OA (he has gotten the bug for collecting colorful pieces) and is letting go of many of his favorite black and white examples to be able to buy others in synch with the new scope of his collection.

While Steve always bought quality, and some pieces are quite expensive, he was not concerned about whether the art was worth a lot of money or not. This means, there is something in this offering that everybody can afford! There are pieces for as little as $100 and those that price in the thousands.  When asked why Steve chose ComicLink as the sales venue for his collection, he replied, "ComicLink has become one of the best places to sell original art these days, and is one of the most prominent players in our hobby. But that aside, I’m proud to say that Josh and I go back to my pre-CGC days and to the early days of ComicLink. We are the best of friends, and by now we trust each other implicitly. That’s always been a big plus for me in business……. "TRUST AND FRIENDSHIP!."

"Steve brought the same discerning eye to his comic art collection as he did to his comic book collection," said Josh Nathanson, President of ComicLink. "I’m excited that he chose ComicLink to assist him in selling the artwork, and that we can offer these quality pieces to our valued clients for their own cherished collections."

The comic art is being offered on a first-come first-served basis from the comic art section of ComicLink.com: http://www.comiclink.com/forsale_ca.asp
