A CGC certified copy of the inaugural issue of Batman with off-white pages graded 5.0 was purchased on eBay for $37,000. Batman #1 featured the first appearance of both the Joker and the Catwoman.   

The most recent CGC Census report notes a total of 113 copies graded with three copies tied as the highest graded example grading 9.0. A CGC certified 9.0 copy of Batman #1 sold for a record price of $280,000 in December of 2007.
