A CGC certified copy of the first appearance of Iron Man with off-white pages graded 8.0 received a total of 23 bids before selling for $9,600 recently.
This copy is just one of the numerous copies of Tales of Suspense #39 that have been traded of late.
The surge in interest in the title and also the prices realized is due in part to the strong response to the Iron Man movie which was just released. The latest CGC Census report notes a total of 605 copies graded with two copies tied as the highest graded in 9.6.
