Within Temptation is record- and genre-breaking since the release of their new album The Unforgiving. This cross-media concept album is based on the storyline of a comic book series written by Steven O'Connell (BloodRayne/Dark 48) and illustrated by Romano Molenaar (Witchblade/The Darkness/X-Men).
The Characters from The Unforgiving even hit the movie screen in 3 short films as extended version of the band's video clips and give further insight into the concept.
"We didn't want to make a traditional concept album where you just make up a story and write lyrics to tell the tale," explains guitarist Robert Westerholt. "Books we read or movies we saw inspired us to write lyrics or a song, and that's how we wanted to approach this."
This October 22-23, 2011 the F.A.C.T.S. convention welcomes Romano Molenaar as an official guest. Romano is the artist and designer of the Unforgiving comic book series and of the album artwork as well.
"Romano and Within Temptation... the best of both worlds", said Emmanuel van Melkebeke, F.A.C.T.S. Convention Director. "I cannot wait to hear what the fans think of this new concept."

The urban psychological-thriller Boy Wonder will screen at the sixth annual New York Comic Con in Manhattan, October 13-19, 2011, at the Javits Center, 655 W. 34th St. The popular fan event attracted nearly 100,000 enthusiasts from across the country last year and is one of the biggest pop culture gatherings in the country.
Already an underground cult hit, the film is also set to premiere theatrically in New York City, October 21 (AMC Loews Village 7 Theater) and in Chicago, October 28 (AMC River East 21).
In sharp contrast to recent big-budget, Hollywood spandex-fests (even Indiana Jones is fighting aliens), Boy Wonder stands apart as a gritty, realistic tale of loss and helplessness in a world that is far tougher than the fantastic worlds presented in the studios’ superhero films.
New York Comic Con Sneak Peek Screening:
Saturday, Oct. 15 @ 6:45 p.m., Room #1B01
(Media can RSVP at 323-660-5800 or karen@greenleafandassociates.com )
Meet the director and stars at the screening and on the show floor
Friday & Saturday, Oct. 14 & 15 @ Booth #1839
Boy Wonder was shot entirely on location in New York City and in the same Irish-Italian, blue collar Brooklyn neighborhood of Maine Park, where writer and director Michael Morrissey grew up.
Said Morrissey, "We are very excited to be a part of New York Comic Con and to give a sneak peek of Boy Wonder, prior to its theatrical debut, to the comic book and sci-fi crowd. I have been reading comics for the past 30 years and this indie, superhero movie is meant to appeal to people who love the dark, complicated side of comics and graphic novels. Boy Wonder is not about the tights and a cape… this is about what would happen if Peter Parker was real and had no super powers, just a burning anger fueled by grief. It's about a complicated teenager who decides to take justice into his own hands, no matter what the cost―about revenge, rage, violence, love and everything in between. I made this movie for comic book fans and am excited for them to finally take a look."
Boy Wonder, which marks the feature film debut of Morrissey, has received 12 awards – as well as accolades from critics―at film festivals across the country, including Best Feature at the 2011 Vail Film Festival; Best Feature at the 2011 Hardacre Film Festival; Gen-Next Film Award at the 2011 KahBang Music, Art & Film Festival; Best Feature Film and Audience Choice Award for Best Feature Film at the 2010 Sacramento Film Festival; Best Feature, Best Director (Morrissey) and Best Actor (Caleb Steinmeyer) at the 2010 Williamsburg International Film Festival; Best Feature and Best Actress (Zulay Henao) at the 2010 ThrillSpy International Thriller & Spy Film Festival; Best Feature Film at the 2010 Festivus Film Festival; and Best Editing (Ray Hubley & Doug Fitch) at the 2010 Rhode Island International Film Festival. It was also an Official Selection at another 15 national and international film festivals.

Award-winning graphic novel publisher, Archaia Entertainment has set a release date of September 28 for Feeding Ground, a stylistic horror graphic novel telling the story of a Mexican family chased by werewolves as they cross the Mexico-U.S. border. Debuting in both English and Spanish, Feeding Ground deals head on with the debate surrounding illegal immigration.
Feeding Ground (paper-over-board hardcover, 184 pp, $24.95, ISBN English Ed: 978-1-936393-02-2, ISBN Español Ed: 978-1-936393-12-1) begins with a new nightmare plaguing the Mexico-Arizona border. A famine caused by Blackwell Industries drives Diego Busqueda, a noble "coyote," to lead his family across the unforgiving "Devil's Highway," a desert cursed with blistering days and deadly nights. However, an ancient evil that has plagued the region for generations has emerged from the shadows. Pitting real-world border politics against a boldly reimagined werewolf mythology, Feeding Ground questions the very nature of survival.
Written by noted film critic, Swifty Lang and author Chris Mangun (Born to Explore), Feeding Ground is a dramatic human drama heightened by the threat of unimaginable evil. A thoroughly researched graphic novel, Feeding Ground is unafraid to take an honest look at the controversy of illegal immigration.
The graphic novel is brought to life by acclaimed graphic designer, Michael Lapinski, who is acclaimed for his work on several Nickelodeon series and 4Kid’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
